I would like to go to Basel, Switzerland from Montpellier, France and would greatly appreciate to know the cheapest way possible to get there.

    you should try the trains. you can google ‘train from montpellier to switzerland’. when i went 2 months ago thats how i got around. :]http://www.raileurope.com/index.html

    You need to do the train. There are flights from Montpellier to Basel but they cost a fortune.
    If you purchase your train tickets 30 days in advance they will be very inexpensive.
    Try the SNCF Boutique on Rue St. Guilem and they can often find you a deal with a discount hotel room included.

    You should check for buses between Montpellier and Basel. when I was traveling between Montpellier and Germany that was the best deal.
